Citizens Advice response to NESO’s transitional Regional Energy Strategic Plan (tRESP) Consultation

Citizens Advice response to NESO’s transitional Regional Energy Strategic Plan (tRESP) Consultation 168 KB

Citizens Advice, as the statutory advocate for energy consumers in England and Wales, welcomes this opportunity to respond to the Transitional Regional Energy Strategic Plan (tRESP) Consultation. We are a national charity, with a network of Local Citizens Advice spread across England and Wales. The Citizens Advice national team is currently in the process of establishing a regional team which will enable us and the network to provide regional insight and engagement on energy policy and practice. However, for the moment we are responding to RESP consultations from a national perspective, considering how the governance and framework ensures best value for money for energy consumers as a whole across England and Wales.

Our overall comment on the tRESP consultation is that it is essential that more regional data and insight is included, and that as much of the assessment and plans are published as possible. This is important to support the principle of transparency and collaboration which informs the RESP framework.
